Inspired from both organic and geometric shapes, the form of the cup was obtained. Visually dividing the cup into 2 parts, the top half incorporating a belly shaped form and a conical cylinder shaped form for the bottom half. Adding a double wall to the outer firm not only helps to keep the beverage hot or cold for a longer period of time and also prevents the users fingers from accidental burns caused by touching the outer surface of the cup.
Complementing the form of the cup, I've come up with two handle variants. The form for the saucer was inspired from the outer form of the cup, incorporating the organic and the geometric elements of the form. Trying to keep the overall form simple and elegant, keeping in consideration the functionality of the product, the critical dimensions and the critical points noted during the concept development.
